2 credits This course engages the student in a "process-centered" approachto Ayurvedic botanical medicine, focusing on therapeutic objectives and herbal actions. The class discusses case strategy and the role of individual Ayurvedic herbs, Ayurvedic polyherb formulas and herb actions from the Ayurvedic perspective. Each section of materia medica includes an Ayurvedic overview of the system/function, Ayurvedic energetics, A and P review, Ayurvedic pathology and herbal properties used in treatment of that system.
