5 credits This course is the introduction to the materia medica series, taught with a foundation in plant taxonomy and pharmacognosy. The plant family structure acts as a mapping for learning nomenclature, energetics, folklore, chemical constituents, medicinal applications, pharmacy, toxicology and safety factors of chosen botanicals.
