not offered 2008-09 This course will introduce students to some of the questions explored within the philosophy of feminism, question such as: What is it to be a woman Are women oppressed How do institutions of motherhood, marriage, and sex shape the lives of women To answer these questions, we will read works by Marilyn Frye, bell hooks, Andrea Dworkin, Susan Bordo and Christina Hoff-Summers.
