SU Students are introduced to the application of counseling theories and interventions to assist clients in addressing clinical issues resulting from childhood sexual abuse (CSA). The effects of CSA on human development as well as the relationship between CSA trauma and the emergence of psychopathology throughout the lifespan are addressed. Emphasis is on developing an understanding of principles and practices involved in the childhood sexual abuse healing process using multiple modalities. Prerequisite: PSYC506: Communication and Counseling Skills.
