This course is designed to familiarize the student with techniques used clinically to assess a patient both subjectively and objectively. It also introduces the student to invasive monitoring systems used in the critical care setting such as Swan-Ganz catherization, CVP and arterial lines, intracranial pressure monitoring, chest drainage, and counterpulsation.
