The purpose of this course is to emphasize the methods for evaluating adult acquired cardiac pathologies. Topics may include cardiovascular pathophysiology, quantitative measurements, and the application of 2D, Mmode, and Doppler to evaluate for abnormalities. Emphasis will be placed on valvular heart disease, endocarditis, ischemic heart disease, systemic and pulmonary hypertension, pericardial disease, and cardiomyopathy.
