A basic type of health professions work-based instruction that helps students synthesize new knowledge, apply previous knowledge, or gain experience managing the workflow. Practical experience is simultaneously related to theory. Close and/or direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional (faculty or preceptor), generally in a clinical setting. Clinical experiences allow the student opportunities to begin utilizing nursing skills in caring for adults and family in acute care settings. Clinical education is an unpaid learning experience. Concurrent theory enrollment in RNSG 1513 is required.(6 lab hours per week) Prerequisites: Admission into the ADN Program, BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, ENGL 1301.
