Three hours credit. An introduction to the desktop publishing of visual communications. Students will learn Macintosh publishing technology in the areas of word processing, graphics, and page layout. The history of design along with the basic principles of design, typography, editing and layout will be taught. Students will produce various design projects on the Macintosh computers in the journalism lab. Prerequisite: Basic keyboarding or typing skills. Three lecture/lab hours each week.
