Three hours credit. Basic instruction in the principles and practices of reporting for the print and broadcast media. Emphasis is placed on development of news writing skills. Comparison and writing of a variety of news forms, including opinion writing, and feature writing. A comprehensive study is made of copyediting. Students will have the opportunity to contribute some articles to the student publications on campus. Three lecture and two lab hours each week. Lab fee.
