Four hours credit. A study of the earth and its inhabitants as revealed in the rocks. Includes a brief survey of the plant and animal kingdoms, a few elementary principles of a stratigraphy and a systematic study of the development of the earth from its origin as a planet to the present. Three lecture and two lab hours each week. Field trips may be scheduled in lieu of equivalent lab sessions. Lab fee. Prerequisite: GEOL 1403 or consent of Division Director.
