Four hours credit. A detailed study of the knowledge and skills necessary to reach competence in the assessment and management of ill or injured patients in nontraditional populations. Integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement a treatment plan for diverse patients, such as neonatal, pediatric, and geriatric patients and chronically ill patients. Curriculum based on U.S. Department of Transportation national Standard Curriculum. 48 classroom hours and 32 laboratory hours. Prerequisites: EMT Basic and Current Provider CPR card, EMSP 2544. Co-requisites: EMSP 2434, 2462 and 2243.
