Four hours credit. An introduction to basic computer-aided drafting. Emphasis is placed on drawing setup; creating and modifying geometry; storing and retrieving predefined shapes; placing, rotating, and scaling objects, adding text and dimensions, using layers, and coordinating systems; as well as input and output devices. The student will comprehend the use of CAD hardware and software to create, display, and plot working drawings. The student will demonstrate the proper use of equipment; operate and adjust input and output devices; start and exit a software program; demonstrate file management techniques; perform drawing setup; construct geometric figures and text; utilize editing commands; control coordinates and scales; use layering techniques; and use associate dimensioning, plotting and printing. Two lecture and four lab hours each week. Lab fee.
