ELTN 1443 - Electrical Trouble- Shooting

Four hours credit. Advanced machinery troubleshooting techniques in an industrial plant and reducing equipment downtime to minimize costly production loss is emphasized. The student will be taught how to knowledgeably select and test in the most probable areas of circuit fault and how to best use test instruments to quickly identify faulty electrical components. A wide range of testing procedures is demonstrated using specialty instruments from megohm meters to hand-held oscilloscopes and others. Ladder logic electrical diagrams and their use in the troubleshooting process are fully explained. Prerequisite: ELTN 1441 and ELPT 2405. Lab fee. Four lecture hours each week.
