Four hours credit. A study of appropriate infant and toddler (birth to 3 years) programs, including an overview of development, quality care-giving routines, appropriate environments, materials and activities, and teaching/guidance techniques. The student will demonstrate knowledge of principles of quality infant/toddler care giving; elements of appropriate indoor and outdoor environments; developmentally appropriate materials and activities; teaching/guidance techniques; and normal growth and development of children from birth to three years. Course includes 30 hours of lab experiences. Three lab hours must be conducted weekly for ten assigned weeks. Three lecture hours each week. Lab fee.
