Four hours credit. Fundamental concepts of programmable logic controllers, principles of operation, numbering systems, logic gates, and Boolean expressions as applied to electrical controls. The student will identify and describe digital logic circuits ad explain numbering systems; explain the operation of programmable logic controllers; convert ladder diagrams into programs; incorporate timers and counters utilizing programmable logic controllers; and execute and evaluate programs. Prerequisites: ELTN 1441 and CETT 1325. Two lecture and three lab hours each week. Lab fee.
