Four hours credit. A study of the fundamentals of alternating current including series and parallel AC circuits, phasors, capacitive and inductive networks, transformers, and resonance. The student will analyze AC circuits from simple to complex; construct and make measurements for AC circuits from simple to complex; describe in technical terms an AC signal on an oscilloscope; and describe the difference between an AC and DC signal. Three lecture and two lab hours each week. Prerequisite: TECM 1341 or MATH 1314. Lab fee.
