Four hours credit. A continuation of MCHN 1452. The student will explain the functions of machine parts; differentiate between selected layout tools; apply proper layout techniques; communicate machine shop theory using appropriate terminology; demonstrate basic machine setups; produce semi-precision and precision layouts; accurately measure to defined tolerances and cut surfaces to a high finish. Two lecture and four lab hours each week. Prerequisite: MCHN 1452. Lab fee.
