Often, leaders emerge in situations driven by crisis, by power struggles, by knowledge ownership, and by omission. Someone needs to lead and no one wants to, so someone has to. Students will analyze the various factors that create the opportunity for the sitautional leader to emerge. The influence of variable such as gender, race, education, and experience on the effectiveness of a leader will be examined. 5 weeks.
