This course is a course in the discovery of mathematics over the past 5000 years. Emphasis is on the lives of the people responsible for notable achievements in mathematical studies. Equal emphasis is placed upon the understanding of the mathematical principles that contributed to the body of knowledge that we enjoy today. University students will actually "do" the mathematics and experimentation that led to the discoveries. This course is not only designed for math majors and educators, but for those students that would like to enhance their knowledge of history in general.
