This course will enable students to earn between one and six hours of credit through internships which provide them with professional experience in fields related to possible or anticipated areas of employment. Twenty-four hours of work will earn one hour of credit. The supervisors of the internship position will provide the student's academic advisor with a final report assessing performance. During the term of employment, the student will maintain a journal which will document tasks, skills, responsibilities, and insights on the job. The internship must be approved by the program director. These internships may be paid or unpaid and may be completed in a number of areas, such as communications, computers, writing, management, research, or teaching.
