Germany, Hitler and the Holocaust focuses on the developments in Germany after World War I, the factors that led to the rise of Hitler, and the instigation of the Holocaust as World War IIbegan. Students will examine the cultural, economic, and political factors that led to Hitler's rise and to the extermination of the majority of Europe's Jewish population. Students will also focus on pedagogical approaches to the Holocaust, by examining teaching strategies appropriate to students of different ages, and developing knowledge of lesson plans and related materials that are available for use by teachers.
