This course will provide students with the skills necessary to counsel and provide direct services to individuals who have, or have had, substance abuse (alcohol, drugs, inhalants, prescription medication, etc.) problems and/or to their family members. Students will learn about addiction issues and will develop the skills necessary to work effectively with this population. Students will also be exposed to the legal and ethical issues related to this at-risk population.
