This course focuses on health care policy and the organization and financing of health care that influences the access, quality, and affordability of health care at the local, state, national, and iinternational level. The application of health promotion and disease prevention strategies for vulnerable populations will be addressed. The formulation and outcome of policies, the impact of managed care, the nature of delivery systems (both acute care and community-based), and the requisite financial resources will be analyzed.
