This course is intended for students who need to refresh or enhance their understanding of fundamental science and safety and health concepts before taking any other course in the Safety, Health, and Environmental Management program. The course will review fundamental concepts of physics, chemistry, biology, human physiology, occupational illnesses and injuries and will provide an introduction to workers' compensation, safety, health and environmental management program history and development and the role of the safety professional.
