A study of the geologic history of the earth, emphasizing the application of basic geology, use and identifi cation of fossils, and an understanding of the development of the geological time scale. The course leads to discussion of current concepts of the ancient and more recent earth, major geologic events, and a study of plants and animals and their succession in the fossil record.
