Utilization of the nursing process in the assessment and management of the childbearing family. Emphasis on the bio-psycho-socio-cultural needs of the family during the phases of pregnancy, childbirth, and the neonatal period including abnormal conditions. Designed to acquaint the student to the obstetrical patient by utilizing the nursing process in meeting the needs of these patients. There is a focus on the parent/fetusneonate in both normal and high risk conditions.
