Prerequisite: permission of department based on satisfactory score on the MATHEMATICS PLACEMENT EXAM, or satisfactory completion of MATH003 with the appropriate eligibility or MATH110. Not open to students majoring in mathematics, engineering or the physical sciences. Not open to students who have completed STAT100 or any MATH or STAT course with a prerequisite of MATH141. Credit will be granted for only one of the following: MATH111 or STAT100. Logic, Boolean algebra, counting, probability, random variables, expectation, applications of the normal probability distribution.
