4 CREDIT HOURS Starting in pre-colonial times and ending in the mid-20th century, this course presents a comprehensive historical view of the visual arts in the Americas and the ideas and forces affecting them. It takes a broad and inclusive approach to the variety and richness of American art, including work by previously marginalized groups: Native Americans, African Americans, and Latinos.
