Introduces students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to the interdisciplinary field of Women's Studies and to the study of gender, sex and power. We will draw on a variey of literature to analyze gender, race, sexuality and other dimensions of identity, past and present. We will place the study of US women and gender roles in broader transnational contexts of analysis. Su, Au, Wi, Sp Qtrs. 5 cl or 2 2-hr cl. Not open to students with credit for 101, 201, 202, or 210. GEC soc sci individuals and groups, social diversity and arts and hums cultures and ideas course.
