Concepts covered include: self; social construction of reality and the symbolic environments; culture and subculture; identity, social location, and socialization. The interconnectedness of selves and societies is explored by examining the ways in which (a) social arrangements shape individuals and (b) individuals shape the social order of which they are a part.
