Description:

Survey of the major taxa of fungi, including the slime molds, with emphasis on their morphology, physiology, and taxonomy. The importance of fungi as causal agents in diseases of humans, other animals, and plants, and as experimental tools in genetic, biochemical, and physiological research will be considered. Basic techniques of culturing fungi are used in the execution of individual projects.
