Introduces the theory and practice of simultaneous interpretation. Particular attention is given to processes involved in translation from consecutive to simultaneous interpreting. Th e advantages and limitations of both types of interpreting are compared. Students apply theoretical information to the process of simultaneous interpreting. Students engage in a research project related to course content. Prereq: INTR 630. 4 cr.
