3 HOURS, 3 CREDITS Th is course analyzes the sources of power in society, the goals of elites and ruling classes, the attitudes of people toward authority, the impact of political decisions on everyday life, why voters support certain candidates and feel strongly about certain issues, whether polls measure or shape public opinion, why political violence occurs and how new technologies will infl uence the future balance of democratic vs. dictatorial tendencies. Prerequisites: ENG 101, and GOV 101 or SOC 101
