Psychology 3 Credits This course will take an in depth look at the etiology, diagnostic criteria and current treatment modalities used in working with patients with eating disorders. Students will develop an understanding of the correlation between mass media and negative body image and disordered eating behaviors, while learning the medical complications that result from those who suffer from these disorders. Students will also learn about current prevention models and strategies used throughout communities that serve to alleviate the growing epidemic of eating disorders.
