Accounting 3 Credits This course provides an introduction to financial accounting including basic concepts, principles and procedures. Students learn the nature of accounts and their classification, the accounting cycle, and preparation of financial statements for both service and merchandising companies as well as the design of accounting systems including the use of special journals and ledgers, and accounting for cash, receivables, inventories, fixed and intangible assets and current liabilities with an emphasis on the analysis and interpretation of each component.
