This course introduces the art of portraiture using two and three dimensional media. The study of anatomical structures accompanies instruction in composition and lighting, accessories, and costume. The portrait will be explored using a very broad definition, including traditional and contemporary approaches to human, animal and imaginary subjects. Prerequisites: VA 1770, VA 1800 and 2000-level VA studio course.
