A program of independent study (reading or research) that allows the student to pursue a subject that falls outside of the traditional disciplines. The initiative for describing the project, planning the method(s) of investigation, determining appropriate product or results, and securing the cooperation of a faculty member to supervise the work must come from the student. Application forms may be picked up in the College of Arts and Sciences Advising Office and must be approved by the Dean of the College. Approval is contingent on the merit of the proposal. Repeatable up to the maximum of 6 credit hours. Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: Approved application and permission of the instructor. Credits: 1 to 6 hours
