Prerequisite: ACCT 520, or its equivalent and MBAA 535, or its equivalent. This course helps students better understand the significant of fraud in the modern Accounting world. Students are prepared to identify, detect and prevent financial fraud. Some topics include the discussion of financial statement, e-business, consumer and tax frauds. Students will use Financial Statement Fraud Standards, including SAS 99 and Sarbanes-Oxley. Research based case projects and presentations are required. 3 sem. hrs. 3 crs. It is recommended that all 100 level courses be completed before registering for 200 level courses. It is recommended that all 200 level courses be completed before registering for 300 level courses. It is recommended that all 300 level courses be completed before registering for 400 level courses.
