The first course in the Nursing Program is an introduction to the practice of nursing and integrates concepts, clinical skills, and attitudes through didactic, laboratory, and clinical experiences. Legal, ethical, and regulatory issues are discussed. Principles of pharmacology, drug dosage, calculation, and nutrition are incorporated into this course. In the clinical area, the student will provide holistic care for an individual client with basic, uncomplicated needs, while maintaining a safe environment.
