2 credits A total of 4 credits may be applied to the major in biology from BIO 491, 492, 497, 498, 499. Prerequisite: A total of 12 completed biology credits including BIO 111 and 112. This course is open to all students upon acceptance by a professor. Students will perform laboratory or field research in biology under supervision of the accepting faculty member. A verbal presentation of the research results to the department is required at the end of the semester. Note: BIO 497 (or BIO 498) is a prerequisite for BIO 499 which is required for Honors in Biology and a Capstone Experience course.
