This course will address the development of past and current U.S. health policies within the context of historical, economic, cultural, and political environments. The political process and the roles and responsibilities of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government will be examined. The power and influence that politics, money, the media, and special interest groups have had, and continue to have, upon the development of national and state health policies will be discussed and analyzed. Prereq: Student in CLM program or upper-level undergraduate or professional status.
