Prerequisite: Junior level standing or consent of the instructor. This course focuses on applying principles of nursing, the related sciences and the psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual spheres in understanding the disruption of physiological processes and the human response. Exploring altered physiological processes provide evidenced based rationale for the application of select nursing interventions in the nursing process. Various therapeutic modalities pertinent to select disease processes will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on the role of the professional nurse as an advocator and collaborator of a holistic approach to assist the client to achieve optimal level of wellness. 4 lecture hours.
