Prerequisite: Successful completion of AFLT 111, or already hold a private pilot certificate with a lighter-than-air category and balloon class rating with an airborne heater. This course covers basics of flight instruction, fuel management, instruction techniques, commercial operations, passenger safety, preflight briefs, in-flight briefs, landing briefs, basics of passenger safety, and on-ground safety with propane refueling techniques. Flight hours will consist of 11 hours of dual flight time, 1 hour solo, and 10 hours of ground instruction. In addition to required flight time, students may complete the FAA practical flight test. 1.5 lecture/ laboratory hours.
