Description:
This course provides the student with a study of the clinical applications within the specialty of gynecologic sonography. Emphasis is placed on the correct use of all technical and medical terms that are necessary for a complete discussion of sonographic procedures within the field of gynecology. Topics will include the related clinical symptoms and laboratory tests, embryology of the female reproductive and genitourinary systems, female reproductive anomalies and their sonographic appearance, normal vs. abnormal sonographic patterns of female anatomy, related disease processes and their sonographic appearance, and sonographic protocol for each of the registry exams covered in the course. Prereq: DMS 316 or consent of the instructor. F
