An overview of the concepts of work measurement and its use in the industrial environment. The techniques behind time and mothin study, work sampling, predetermined time systems, and standard data will be studied. Emphasis will be on understanding the application and ramification of work measurement in manufactoring organizations. Will explore the Continuous Improvement concept, or Just in Time (JIT) and how it is impacted by work measurement. Will visist the related disciplines of production management, capacity analysis, and manufacturing flow and facilities. 3 hours lecture. Prerequisiste: TMG 201.
