In this course, students are provided with an understanding of the interdisciplinary primary-care and community-based services required for the practical management of children with physical disabilities, multiple-handicaps, and chronic illnesses from birth through childhood. Attention is given to the screening, diagnosis, and evaluation of the high-risk infant; behavioral and emotional implications of terminal illness; development of comprehensive early intervention treatment and educational plans; and support mechanisms that are helpful to families. Prerequisites & Notes Junior or senior status.
