Students are introduced to local and wide area networks, the OSI model of networking, network protocols, transmission methods, physical and logical topologies, and network hardware. Includes hubs, switches, bridges, routers, and a detailed understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite, the default protocol of the Internet and the most popular protocol in use on contemporary networks. Provides a solid foundation for the CompTIA Network+ certification exam.
