This course provides an introduction to the study of marriage and the family from a sociological perspective. This course will provide an opportunity to look at something familiar (the family) in a new way. Using statistics, research, and sociological theories, we will examine marriage and the family with a focus on diversity in families and trends in forming and maintaining family life. Prerequisite: SO 101 recommended. Typically offered Spring semester. Three credits.
