Practical Applications for College Pre: ESL019 or ESL084 & 086 with C or C+, or placement exam Co: COM011 and COM013 Provides students with a wide variety of group and individualized activities to develop basic academic and performance skills needed for success both in college and on the job. Among topics addressed are vocabularly development, sentence editing, textbook study, self-instruction strategies and test preparation, time management, goal setting, and the elements of a successful attitude. Independent study will provide students the opportunity for supplementary work in reading and writing. Students identified through the College Assessment Program should enroll in this course in their first semester. This course satisfies no elective requirement.
