3 cr. 3 hr. This course provides an overview of business operations. In light of selected production improvement techniques (automation, incentive wage system, etc.), students review the role of selected staff departments (purchasing, production planning, etc.) that support the line organization. In the process, students become familiar with a variety of control systems (quality control, inventory control, etc.), which are fundamental in any business-whether product or service oriented. Prerequisite: BSAD 3200.
